Creation Philippe Clain: CLASSIC VAVANGUE
VAVANGUE
This guitar comes in 12 or 14 frets at checkout.
This implies a suitable bracing, depending on the place of the bridge on the soundboard.
These 2 guitars are directly inspired by the poetry of the botanical and vernacular names of these species that grow in Reunion. They are well integrated into the landscape of the island. I use them in my creations.
"Vavangue" is the logical descendant of "Albizia".

"Vavangue" is a classical guitar with a scale length of 644mm. Whether the strings are mounted right-handed or left-handed, its great particularity is its two soundholes located on the handle, straddling the edge of the soundboard and the sides. Thanks to its symmetrical bracing, the strings can be mounted inverted. So right-handers and all left-handers will play this instrument while enjoying playing comfort in the treble.

A standard cutaway reduces the volume of the sound box from about 1 liter to 1.5 liter.

The two soundholes allow the body of "Vavangue" to keep all its volume to make the bass sounds resonate well and allow a certain clearance for the comfort of hand playing, in the treble.

We were talking about the Morvan spruce soundboard.

This quality of wood is not found in the southern hemisphere. The table is set with a wide net. The golden reflection of the cypress is supported by a finer thread: Ebony Sycamore Ebony.

The wood grain of the sides and back: Pithecellobium dulce, tells us a lot, especially since the three-piece back is embellished with a lay in Acacia Mearnsii, an invasive tree imported from Australia. All this blend of selected essences is enhanced with very elegant threading.

The bridge, with a mobile nut, to define the accuracy, can be equipped with a passive sensor, connected thanks to a Takamine type jack in the middle of the sides in the cleat of the large lob. It sits in the middle of the easel. The woods of the tailpiece are: Rosewood, ebony or Japanese Sophora.

Active sensors, equipped with preamp and batteries, are bulky and invasive. They call into question the acoustic integrity of the guitar.

The 20 fret fingerboard is Sophora from Japan. It is a very hard wood from a magnificent tree native to China, used in gardens and public places for ornament. The hardness of this wood makes the fingerboard resistant to string wear. A carbon fabric reinforces the handle in Maogani, an essence from the forest of Saint Philippe.

Bone saddles have proven themselves. The mortised head is drawn on a pattern very inspired by Boucher's guitars. It is veneered in facing and against facing of very varied essences with decorative characters. Basically, I offer Schaller tuners that we will replace according to your choice and your budget.

The handle is comfortable, since it will be formed, in thickness, width, profile and radius to your dimensions.

Vavangue remains a light guitar.

The bass has breath and the highs sing harmoniously.
